Nick Cannon
Nick Cannon born October 8, 1980 is an American actor, rapper, and television personality.. He was introduced to the entertainment industry as a dancer on Soul Train and as a standup comedian in Los Angeles. Like many of his teen-star brethren, Cannon quickly found a home on the Nickelodeon cable channel. During the 1998 season, he joined the cast of the teen sketch comedy show All That. During this time, he could be seen all over the channel, from Snick show host to series writer on Cousin Skeeter and Kenan && Kel. Also a songwriter and rapper, Cannon’s cover of “Parents Just Don’t Understand” (originally recorded by DJ Jazzy Jeff && the Fresh Prince) appeared on the soundtrack to the Nickelodeon animated feature Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. After a few bit parts in the feature films Whatever It Takes and Men in Black II, he got ready to make his media breakthrough in film, television, and music.
Cannon scored his television debut on Nickelodeon’s All That. In 2002, he was featured in his own series, The Nick Cannon Show. Later that year, he had his first starring role in Drumline, followed by the 2003 comedy Love Don’t Cost a Thing. In 2005, he appeared in Roll Bounce with fellow actor and rapper Bow Wow.That same year, Cannon starred in and executive produced the comedy Underclassman. In 2006, Cannon lent his voice for the animated feature Monster House, followed by a role in the drama Bobby.
The following year, Cannon created Short Circuitz, a sketch comedy series that also airs on MTV.[8] Most recently, he has appeared in the Direct-to-DVD remake of Day of the Dead and the independent drama American Son.
Cannon dated Grammy-nominated singer and actress Christina Milian and socialite Kim Kardashian.Cannon began dating Victoria’s Secret model Selita Ebanks in February 2007 and just six weeks later on May 7, 2007, Cannon proposed to Ebanks via the Times Square jumbotron.The couple called off their engagement five months later in October 2007.
On April 30, 2008 Cannon married singer Mariah Carey at Carey’s estate on the Bahamian island of Windermere.The two share a short haired Jack Russell Terrier named Cha Cha.
